DFCU has donated 25 million shs worth of school fees bursaries to 50 students each bursary being worth 500,000shs through the dfcu achiever’s account. The bank expects to give out 300 school bursaries of 500,000shs each this year.

Customers who have dfcu achiever’s accounts with a minimum balance of 500,000shs qualified for the promotion. This account comes hand in hand with free insurance cover.

The dfcu achiever’s account is a school fees account that has been drawn to ease the burden of paying school fees by parents and guardians.  It was designed to ease the burden of paying school fees by saving for their children’s fees all year round thus eliminating the last minute struggle of running around for money. “Education is the foundation of society which brings social prosperity and economic wealth,” said Wilbrod Owor the head of consumer banking.  It is also the best investment that one can give their children. The community plays a big role to the country and DFCU is playing its part by contributing to the education of the children of Uganda.

Mr. Fagil Mandy, the guest of honor at the draw commended dfcu bank for the initiative and called for more involvement from the parents and guardians in their children’s education. He added that the more parents and guardians embrace this new service, the chances of school drop outs arising out of nonpayment of school fees dues will be lower.
