I have been fighting with these thieves because they had spoilt this issue of Umuganda (community service). You know Uganda has so many thieves. The President’s thinking on the economy is lame. The area shaken was the discipline the bank of Uganda had instilled in the management of public funds. But gradually, the President messed up the foundation. Rukiga MP Jack Sabiiti responding to President Museveni’s recent statement in the press that the crumbling shilling, against the dollar, is good for the economy.

They have messed up the sector and everything is in shambles. The mess can only be rectified by breaking UTODA monopoly. I have learnt that UTODA is registered as a non-profit making organisation but they are busy making profits and that is why we want to verify their documents. Kampala Mayor Erias Lukwago talking about the claims that UTODA has mismanaged the taxi transport business.

I want to make it clear that I have never been summoned and there is no reason to summon me. The minister  [Uganda’s Internal  Affairs Minister Hillary Onek] said they had summoned an envoy of a neighbouring country. Let him explain which country it is and you will understand that it is not Rwanda. Rwandan ambassador Maj. Gen. Frank Mugambagye denying some claims that the “neighbouring country” where the late renegade Col. Edison Muzoora allegedly entered Uganda from, is Rwanda and that he had been summoned by the Uganda government over the matter.

 

The African continent occupies a deep passionate place in my heart. When I see the development, huge energy and vitality that has come into Rwanda, I realise that Kagame’s leadership has made that difference. I cannot think of anyone better for The Chello Foundation to give this award to. Chairman of The Chello Foundation Shane O’Neill said at the ceremony to bestow the foundation’s Humanitarian Award 2011 on Rwandan President Paul Kagame on July 1.
