Kony, Otti, Odyambo, Lukwiya, Abudema, Opio Makas, Ocan Bunia, Angola, Lotiba, and Labalpiny were all on air.

Kony;

Has sent out several small fighting groups. Among them is Odyambo’s group, which he (Kony) has ordered to make sure he intercepts and ambushes UPDF without fail in areas of what he called “their former garden where one Okot used to cultivate.”

He later directed Odyambo to send some soldiers to him as soon as possible.

He repeated his anxiety to meet Makas immediately stating it clearly that situation might worsen if Makas is destroyed before reaching him with the items and people he crossed with from Uganda.

He ordered Lotiba to make sure he meets Makas by 0800hrs today so they hurry to join him in his defence.

In reaction to Lukwiya’s report, Kony directed him never to stay and continue communicating when the enemy is advancing towards him.

Otti instructed Angola that he doesn’t want to hear that Ojara has separated from him.

Ocan Bunia closed down after he failed to read Kony clearly.

Lukwiyal reported that he was seriously being followed and attacked by UPDF. That some good number of his people have already separated from him and closed down immediately.

Angola reported that Ojara has joined him. He revealed that it was CACA who attacked Minakulu and looted an assortment of drugs that can help them. He also revealed that he attacked Atine and the results were not bad. He did not elaborate. That one of his soldiers escaped.

Lotiba reported that his enemy is disturbing him and he could not stay on air. He promised to come back later.

Comments;

Kony seems to be preparing for his final showdown with UPDF. It seems he cannot runaway or change location before he meets Makas to reinforce him with mainly food, ammo and drugs. This has forced him to put up a defence sending fighting groups to engage and ambush the advancing UPDF especially the one following Makas.

Kony has a habit of putting up a defence and then sneak out without the knowledge of his commanders in the defence. He will stay about a kilometre plus ‘with two or three soldiers who sit in a few metres from his location to hear him if he wants their services. He does all this for survival to avoid involving himself in any fight and stay in contact with his commanders on a walk talkie.

Action taken and recommendations;

UPDF should put into consideration Kony’s survival instinct to see how they can trap him by sending some intercepting forces in several directions as he is believed to run long distances whenever he hears the first bullet on his defence.

SITREP.

Kony, Otti, Lukwiya, Ocan Bunia, Angola, Kapere, Abudema, Dominic, Lotiba, Labongo, Opio Makas, Odokonyero, Wodo Paco, and Oyoo were all on air.

Kony;

Directed Lukwiya Raska who has already crossed into Sudan to move and pass through the area he described as” where Otti Sam’s hand was one time shot by the enemy” he cautioned him (Lukwiya ) not to follow Opio Makas’ trails as the enemy has already put traps along, he instructed him to keep coordinating with him fur guidance.

Instructed all units that all support weapons such as B10, SPG-912.7mm should be sent to Sudan to beef up his security.

Warned Otti not to receive any document from government agents, as they may be contaminated with anthrax. That President Museveni has a plan to annihilate LRA by deploying mobiles and gun ships at once and move with speed to capture him. Instructed Otti to remove Alit from the command of a brigade to a lower post.

Instructed Labongo to take all the women of LRA officers to Lakat and one Otema should be given to Labongo as he is expected to escape.

Otti:

Revealed that he was attacked by UPDF and many of his soldiers were killed in action and sustained many casualties. That most of these soldiers were trained during Iron Fist .

He confessed that if you are not a strong-hearted commander you cannot move because of the massive deployment of UPDF in areas of Kilak hills.

Reported that his squad staged an ambush in undisclosed location and registered the following: 03 SMG rifles, 03 pairs of gumboots, 03pecks, 05 RPG bombs plus all the fuses.

He discussed media with Kony, Among them the current talk on PAFO, the Bigombe and Adek venture to talk peace with Kony.

Accused Lakati of not operating to LRA’s expectation and yet he has just been promoted to a rank of a “MaJor General.”

Labongo reported that he attacked Kalabongo camp in Namokora sub- county on the 3rd /6/04 and charged the following; 02 SMG , killed 05 UPDF soldiers plus an unspecified number of civilians, rifles, 13 full magazines plus 06 empty ones, 11 pairs of uniform, 05 kibuyes, 05 Army belts, 18 potches, 15 caps, one and half chains of PKM and Ugshs 154,000. He also reported to have ambushed a vehicle on 18/06/04 and charged 05 litres of gun oil and shs 30,000. He further ambushed a vehicle on Madi -Opei road, in both incidents he charged both accumulators. He revealed that the havoc he did in Kalabongo is a revenge to what UPDF is doing to them and vowed to kill at least a person daily and that he will remain in his base he has established, from there he will send young officers for operations.

Abudema reported that he was off air because of pressure from UPDF which attacked him killing 02 of his soldiers and many casualties.

Opio Makas reported that he was hit by a gunship injuring one soldier and killing one recruit and a child. He informed Kony that 04 soldiers namely; Dwoka, Ongwere, Otto and Oroko who separated from Justine during the contact went with the ammo, which Justine bad gone to retrieve.

Kapere reported that he is planning for serious atrocities in retaliation for the killing of his wife and the child in the recent UPDF ambush. He informed Labongo that he lost his uniform during the attack, so he (Labongo) should get him some pairs.

Comments;

Kony seems to be worried about LRA staying in Uganda in big numbers. He thinks that they can easily defect if pressed by UPDF especially now that most of them are hearing commercial radio programmes where the defectors are participating.

He may also want to meet them to discuss the way forward after the Sudan Government changed their official stand on LRA.
