I am pretty impressed by this beautiful work. We missed having him on the WAPI programme. We are looking for a sponsor to continue showcasing artists and their work in Uganda - Patrick

Show of Fred's prints in Minnesota

In January 2009 I worked with Fred offering a Let Art Talk printmaking workshop to students in Kampala, Uganda. I was able to bring many of Fred's prints and the equally passionate student prints to my studio-gallery in northern Minnesota. Proceeds from our earlier sales have enabled Fred to build a small dormitory building to house students from distant villages during art classes as wellas help individual students. Please see more at www.woodcut.com.

This is a wonderful article on Fred. I just thought I would mention the work he does with his organization, Let Art Talk. In addition to working with the University of North Texas Art Gallery in 2008 on a joint print with the fibers and printmaking department, he worked with several area schools to create a "Talking Mural" that is to be exchanged with one he just finished in Uganda. Fred is about bringing the arts to underserved communities and I applaud his wonderful efforts. To see the mural created in the US and to keep updated on this exchange, take a look at www.barkcloth.blogspot.com. Sincerely, Lesli Robertson, Adjunct Professor, University of North Texas - Lesli Robertson
