Thxs Dr Paul
Indeed there is a lot to do and we all own it to our country to put such issues into context. For long we as health workers have been too silent and let people who are driven by emotions and popularism take the agenda. There are many policies and laws in Uganda that are not only outdated but also new ones being crafted based on popularism with little or no evidence based medicine-Heard what MPs said about Sickle Cell Disease recently? - Dr. Ssenyondo Gonzaga Gonza

In defence of Puritanism and commendation of Semugoma!

Kudos to Dr Semugoma for this article. Puritanism indeed may produce narrow minded and judgemental attitudes. But I wonder whether puritanism is the culprit here, despite its stringent sexual morality, prohibition of alcohol etc. However Puritanism produced the Protestant work ethic. I think there's a difference between Puritanism (read about the Puritans) and the contemporary Christian Right in America, and current homophobia is a product of the latter. - Rev Amos Kasibante
