Govt cannot abolish Buganda Kingdom without resorting to genocide

Ugandan newspapers and writers always use language out of context. As an example, the police interrogate suspects and witnesses even in civil matters, as opposed to interview or question them. Interrogation is a military practice with connotations of torture. Perhaps this nuanced use points to the government of the day. Obote banned the Kabakaship, he could not abolish it. To abolish it would require him to abolish all Buganda culture that centers on the Kabaka. Essentially requiring the killing of all Baganda who upheld the institution. Such a move would be genocidal and suicidal. Hitler attempted to abolish Judaism. Henry VIII attempted to abolish Catholicism in England. Neither succeeded!!!! - mbukuuli ya buganda
