parents should monitor their children's movements and the type of company they keep. It is wrong to rent an apartment to a little boy of that age especially in abroad. Any thing of such can easily take place because children's peers easily influence them than parents instructions. This happened as a result of free hand given to the boy right from his childhood. Secondly, the type of teachings children had at their early age goes a long way in moulding their character. It is unfortunate that the nation that hates evil is being labelled against what she does not believe upon. My advice is that the Government should try all within her power to redeem her image. Nigeria is a beautiful country to belong, one man's misbehaviour shouldn't be used against the whole nation. It is a wrong judgement. - CHIOMA KATE

The making of a terrorist-martyr

Seems to contradict what we might suspect of the profile of a suicide bomber: born in wealth and privilege, educated in a high profile University with an Engineering degree (and by Ugandan standards therefore with the kind of degree that the politicians say we should aim for), and with the prospects of a bright future ahead of him. But this is precisely the profile of the suicide bomber. In fact, more often than not, he does not look suspicious but is calm, intelligent. Question to ask is what goes into the making of an Abdulhutallab? One answer lies in the power of religious fanaticism that would make one not suffer but actually seek martyrdom. He is angry about the way America has treated Muslims. He sees reality in black and white. - Rev Amos Kasibante

Nigerians already battered image that the good citizens are trying to salvage has again been dealt a heavy blow by this radical of a son Abdulmutallab. This God forsaken child chose to throw away his good life for a stupid cause.Well those in charge of rebranding Nigeria should do everything within their power to save the face of the good people of this country. So that the Stupidity of one radical does not rub off on so many people to a large extent.May Almighty God save his people.Amen................... - Atsekhameh Emmanuel
