Journalists "pretend" to be above the law by insinuating that being summoned by the law amounts to not only an infringement of their private lives, but those of freedom of speech in general, which is far from the truth, especially in Uganda today. This cultivation of a "persecuted persona" is also adopted by the opposition who are blinded by their own web of lies to believe that they are capable of winning a free and fair general election.
