I know that some of the western powers are very good at pocking their noses in the affairs of other developing nations. Now that Iran is coming up as a regional superpower, I bet the western powers are restless!!!
They must do all they can to undermine the present regime which has posed a strong risistance towards the colonial mentality of the western powers. So the demonstrations we see on the streets of Teheran is work of the secret agents of the western powers but the truth is that this all futile. Amednejad is still enjoying a lot of popularity in Iran. I do not see an overturn of the Iranian revolution in this generation irrespective of the western propaganda. - Mukalazi

The Iranians never cared about their nuclear program, the threats to Israel, the persecution of Christians there, support for Hezbollah and Hamas. This is about issues WITHIN Iran, not about foreign policy. Mousavi already said that he wants it to remain an Islamic Republic. They have no guns and the govt is not playing games, nothing much will change. - Christopher

"The thundering chants of “Allahu Akbar” at opposition rallies remind us that Islam, even Islamism - that is, political Islam - and democracy can, and should, go together".

What a ridiculous statement. So they vote in dominating Islamist parties. Are non-Muslims supposed to be excited about that?

The problems with Islam been going on for centuries and now the hate stemming from Islam has spread across the world. It is time for the West to end all Muslim immigration. - Christopher

As the United States prepares to celebrate Independence Day, the situation in Iran reminds us that freedom is not free, is not universally enjoyed, and should not be taken for granted. We complain a lot about our politicians seldom contemplate the fact that our freedom to do so is precious. - Sam
