
The Constituional Court on August 25 scrapped the century old sedition law from Uganda’s statute books, marking a historic stride towards freedom of speech and expresion. The law had been introduced by the colonial administration to stifle African agitation for self rule in the 19th century. Sedition now joins another law on false news which was abolished a few years ago. (See main story)
