Renowned Chairman of the Madhvani Group of Companies, Manubhai Madhvani died in London on May 17, 2011 and his body was later cremated at the Golders Green Crematorium, West Chapel in London. He was one of the three joint managing directors of the Kakira Sugar Works based in Jinja Uganda. The ashes of his body would later be flown to Uganda.

Manubhai was born in Jinja where he was brought up and educated until he took over control of his father’s business conglomerate. He died at 81 after a short illness.

“Under the Hindu custom, the ashes will be immersed in a Holy River (River Nile) and as per the desire of Manubhai, some of the ashes will be (placed) next to his father, the late Muljibhai Madhvani, and late brother Jayant Madhvani in the family’s private Samadhi in Kakira,” a statement from the Madhvani Group read.
